Workshop Foreman

The Role:

• Oversee the day to day operation of the Workshop ensuring optimum and consistent labour utilisation, labour deployment and job efficiency

• Managing a team of 10 Technicians in a busy environment.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• To book in, by telephone, email or personally, vehicles for service and repair
• Generate Estimates and invoices
• To hand over the vehicle to customer and explain any issues relating to the work/future work required
• Meet with customers to identify and clearly understand problems as and when required.
• Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices.
• Complete relevant service documentation in line with Dealer and Manufacturer requirements
• Check level and quality of work through use of diagnostic equipment and road testing vehicles after work has been carried out.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes:

• Ideally but not essentially a Qualified Mechanic or a person with 3 years’ experience in managing a Vehicle Workshop & team of Technicians.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office and experience of Assetminder would be an advantage.
• HGV / PSV licence an advantage
• Team player with ability to work on their own initiative
• Be flexible and prepared to work in any required areas
