The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) is reminding CVR Testers that the cut-off date for authorisation of testers is Thursday, March 27
SIMI says that current testers will lose their ability to test if they have not applied by March 27. This will affect their employment prospects and the Test Centre’s ability to test.
There are legal processes to be followed in the applications which will take time to complete. If a CVR Tester’s authorisation expires, they will no longer be able to test!
What to Do:
Download and fully complete the Application Form for existing testers from the CVRT or RSA website.
Supply required relevant supporting documentation.
Complete the checklist to confirm all necessary documents are enclosed
Submit to the RSA in Loughrea as required.
SIMI says it cannot emphasise strongly enough that Test Centre Owners should make sure that their testers undertake this action without delay. The Authorisation of Testers and Test Centres is governed by the (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness) Act 2012 and their in no leeway for late applications.
